Job Summary:  The Project Officer Agriculture and Livelihood
will offer technical support to field staff implementing NUSAF 2 projects in
Kotido and Kaabong Districts in the areas of Agricultural Production and
Sustainable Environmental Management. The job holder will work in liaison with
the District Production and Environmental offices to ensure that projects designed
by WV have been and are technically feasible for implementation including
ensuring that the right types of inputs that are suitable for Karamoja region
have been procured and delivered on timely manner. The incumbent work in
liaison with NGOs implementing similar projects Abim and Kotido Districts to
ensure that there is complementarities and better utilization of project
resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Ensure all agricultural production and sustainable
environmental projects are feasible i.e. are technically sound, have right
number of participants and inputs.
·        
Carry out training of staff on sustainable
agriculture and environmental management practices in liaison with district
production, forestry and environment departments. Cuttings and se

Work closely with the field teams and district
technical staff, develop work norms and standards for implementation of all
agricultural production and environmental management projects.
·        
Conduct regular field visit to sub-project sites to
check implementation progress and conduct on-spot training of field staff,
PTLs, CMs, PMCs and project participants.
·        
Provide guidance during the process of project
selection and drafting of project design documents and budgets.
·        
In liaison with the Field Teams prepare monthly and
quarterly progress reports which reflect activities accomplished in the
agricultural production and environmental management areas.
·        
Represent WV team in district food security and
livelihood meetings and forums in Kotido and Abim Districts.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Degree
in Agriculture or related field
·        
Formal training in agricultural or livelihood
programming/voucher transfer/cash transfer and related systems strongly
preferred.
·        
A minimum of three to five years’ experience in
relief programming with actual field experience.
·        
Relevant teamwork experience and good interpersonal
skills
·        
Excellent command of written English with experience
in donor reporting
