Job Summary: The NTV Newscast
Director plays a significant role in the production process that encompasses
the execution and delivery of all newscasts, programs and LIVE broadcasts. The incumbent
works with specialized equipment that requires special training/knowledge to
operate. Usually a highly creative individual, the jobholder will be tasked
with identifying technical problems and providing innovation solutions. This is
a hands-on job that also requires coordinating set design and construction,
lighting and handling any emergent technical details needed during broadcasts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Oversee the best news-related shows and programmes
by keeping to deadlines and ensuring studio and equipment are in working
condition at all times
·        
Manage the technical aspects of newscasts and other
productions including taking responsibility for the on-air product including
camera shots and graphics
·        
Operate equipment to produce programs or broadcast
LIVE programs from remote locations
·        
Guide on filter options, lens choices and the visual
effects of objects being filmed with Producers and Cameramen
·        
Ensure newscasts are well packaged and provide high
quality coverage, accuracy to result in a competitive position in the market.
·        
Provide overall leadership and execution of LIVE
coverage of any broadcast while ensuring quality assurance
·        
Conceptualize and deliver breaking news fast as it
happens in a minimum turnaround
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidates for the NTV Newscast Director
vacancies must hold a Diploma in TV & Film Production.
·        
Practical knowledge of camerawork
·        
Highly proficient in the theory and practical
aspects of various lighting configurations
·        
Decisive and sensitive under pressure.
·        
Keen attention to detail and drive for perfection
·        
The incumbent will be a champion of product
excellence
·        
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot any assignment
difficulties that come within area of responsibility.
·        
Ability to work long and odd hours in a fast paced
environment
