local and international organizations to promote social and economic change
around the world for overe 40 years. Chemonics is implementing the Feed the
Future Uganda Commodity Production and Marketing (CPM) Activity. CPM is
implemented through a five-year, USAID-funded contract that began in March
2013. CPM increases the wealth and long-term prosperity of rural families in 34
Feed the Future focus districts by using innovative methods to increase the
quantity and quality of beans, coffee and maize that they are able to produce
and sell.
Job Summary: The
Communications Manager will steer and implement high-profile communications and
behavioral change strategies. The incumbent uses monitoring and evaluation
information and lessons learned from implementation for general communication
campaigns targeting audiences at the national and regional levels. In addition,
she/he is responsible for implementing CPM’s robust behavioral change and
communication strategy, which is a core aspect of our work. She/he will also be
responsible for fostering internal communications and CPM branding.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an MA in
an area related to communications and marketing (BA and five years’ experience
can substitute for MA)
·        
At least five years’ experience in the private
sector directly related to areas such as communications, social marketing, and
behavior change with at least two years’ management experience.
·        
Excellent command of both verbal and written English
·        
Good communication skills
·        
Possess the ability to relate to varied audiences
·        
Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively
interact with a wide range of people
·        
Solid consultative, facilitation and presentation
skills ,
·        
Existing relationships with various media channels
outside Kampala highly desired
·        
Skills in desktop publishing will be an added
advantage
·        
No donor experience required
