needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader, Kitgum,
Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Job Summary:  The Civil / Architect Engineer will primarily manage
the technical designs including: preparing engineering drawings and designs
development of BOQs and management of infrastructure works in the West Nile
Program. The job holder will also be responsible for Quality Assurance of
infrastructure works and its components.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Manage the construction of all infrastructures and
ensure works are carried out as per set standards specified in the
Infrastructure Manual.
·        
Actively contributes to the development of
engineering budgets and associated work schedules, based on engineering
resource planning, taking into account all required engineering material needs
and selected enabling capacities (e.g. commercial contractors, program support
teams or staffing) for the most effective and efficient execution of the
engineering work plans.
·        
Offers expert technical support on technical
documents and overall policies, procedures and guidelines pertinent to the
programs engineering activities, taking into account quality management and risk
management best practices.
·        
Monitors actual costs and schedule performance
against the approved budget and baseline schedules.
·        
Drafts responses to both internal and external audit
observations on engineering tasks and activities in the program;
·        
Responsible for preparing budget estimates for
infrastructure related activities.
·        
Actively monitor quality and quantity of materials
used in the field.
·        
Prepare monthly work plans and reporting on actual
work achieved against work plan.
·        
Mentor and supervise Engineering Officer, masons and
ensure that the workmanship is as per set standards.
·        
Work in liaison with the District Engineering
Departments for any technical advice.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the Civil / Architect
Engineer vacancy should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a
recognized University or Institution:
·        
At least five years’ relevant work experience in
labor based construction technology;
·        
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership
in the field of infrastructure engineering;
·        
Good team player and ability to work well with
minimal supervision.
·        
Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of
people.
·        
Computer literacy skills with proficiency in Excel.
·        
Technical design skills using AutoCAD or Arch CAD, Epi
info and WaterCAD
