Job Summary: The Alternative
Business Manager will primarily determine the unique needs of the uninsured or
inadequately insured market and working with Product development teams to
develop relevant products. The job holder will be tasked with designing and
developing in conjunction with relevant departments and rolling out relevant
new and unique distribution channels to deliver the new solutions to the
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Marketing department to collect
feedback /data/knowledge of largely uninsured market on their needs in products
and product delivery requirements as a basis of developing relevant solutions
to reach this market
Work in liaison with the business and especially the
technical committee, the operations department continuously develop new
innovative insurance solutions to satisfy the currently uninsured market
Develop and deploy in conjunction with relevant
business arms effective alternative product delivery mechanism to reach the
uninsured market or reach currently insured market in more effective and
convenient ways
Grow the alternative business lines at rates greater
than existing business lines
Deliver target business performance in terms of
revenues, profits and assets creation
The incumbent will build and train an alternative
sales distribution network for the target products
Regularly communicate with existing partners/clients
on new products and service offerings
Identify key industry trends to capitalize business
opportunities and ensure customer retention
Work in liaison with the marketing department to
drive programs and events to extend the relationships to new prospects
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Managing
Qualifications, Skills and
The applicant should preferably hold a good Business
Possession of Insurance technical qualification is
an added advantage
At least five years of related experience
Excellent track record on business development
Technical insurance knowledge
Possess the ability to integrate relevant knowledge
of insurance with practical solutions that may redefine insurance in modern
terms to make it relevant to people’s lives.
High degree of innovation
Entrepreneurial drive
