Bank was incorporated as a private company under the Companies Act in December
1967, the Bank has become a household name and has grown in leaps and bounds

Housing & Construction Corporation, a parastatal involved in real estate
business has 5% shareholding and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) holds 50%

share.
Manager – Market and Strategic Risk will identify, measure, monitor and
minimize market risk through analysis of making relevant recommendations and
proper reporting in line with regulatory frameworks and the Bank’s strategy.
The incumbent should study developments in risk and profitability with the aim
of communicating strategic and market risk information to management
Plan and develop the strategic and market risk management
process for the year.
Implement Value at risk models for measuring market
risk.
Work closely with respective market risk owners to
ensure that market risk appetite stays within the Bank’s limit.
Implement frameworks for validating stress testing
models used in market risk analysis.
Responsible for the identification, description and
estimation of the market risks resident in Treasury, Investment and Finance
operations of the Bank.
Compare estimated risks against the Bank’s set
criteria established in the market risk policy and strategic risk policy, and
recommend mitigating actions for the identified exposures.
Report strategic and market risks to different
parties within the Bank.
Offering technical support, education and training
to staff to build market and strategic risk awareness within the Bank.
Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Management, Finance, economics or other related field
preferred.
Possession of an advanced degree in business or
professional qualifications e.g. ACI
At least five years’ experience in risk management
in the banking industry, three of which at managerial level
Broad knowledge and understanding of enterprise risk
framework
Excellent analytical and problem solving experience.
Excellent reporting skills
Broad knowledge and understanding of financial
products traded and market risk concepts.
Team oriented, flexible, diligent and self-motivated
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in the use of Microsoft
application skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and
expertise to team members.
Ability to work under pressure setting the right
priorities.
