(Operations and Business Development)
Zones Authority is mandated to establish, develop, manage, market, maintain,
supervise, control and to provide for other related matters of Free Zones in
Uganda, as outlined in section 13 sub-section 1 to 2 of the Free Zones Act,
2014.
(Operations and Business Development) will be in charge of facilitating the
development of Free Zones and ensure that the business environment within the
Zones is competitive for Investment.
Render support in ensuring that investors can secure
necessary authorizations, services, funds, partners in a speedy and
professional manner in order to implement and operate their licensed projects
within the Free Zones;
Cultivate understanding of the needs for the
promotion of the Free Zones;
Ensure that all required measures to facilitate
business activities in a Free Zone are identified and implemented;
Guide and support persons undertaking development or
management of Free Zones;
Attract new investments in Free Zones:
Appraise new projects and prepare opinions /
technical advice concerning due diligence on applicants for licenses;
Build and strengthen working relationships with all
Free Zone developers and Operators;
Work closely with UFZA’s stakeholders to effectively
address Developers’ concerns and provide relevant information to Developers on
business services;
Ensure environmental and social impact assessment is
done on proposed free zone sites;
Actively monitor and supervise activities of free
zone operators;
Perform any other duties assigned from time to time
by the Director (Operations and Business Development)
Experience:
The Manager (Operations and Business Development)
must hold a Master’s degree in Economics, Civil Engineering, Business
Administration, Urban Planning or a related field from a recognized University
or Training Institution.
The incumbent should also be in possession of an
honours Bachelor degree in Economics, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning,
Business Administration or a related field.
At least five years’ experience in a Managerial
position with a fast growing organisation.
Possess excellent skills in writing proposals and
grant applications to solicit funds from various development partners to
support the Activities of the Authority

Excellent organizational skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills and good communication
skills;,
Good networking skills
Excellent spoken and written skills.
Self-motivation and capability to work under tight
deadline in a competitive environment
High personal integrity
Age: Between 35 –
55 years old
