Job Summary:  The Manager Communications will drive the
delivery of Stanbic Bank’s internal communication strategy. The incumbent will enable
the departments of the organization to deliver key communication to staff, customers
and other stakeholders in a planned way. The job incumbent will also be
expected to take lead responsibility for the planning and implementation of range
of events and conferences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Responsible for all communication initiatives for
Stanbic Bank Uganda Ltd (internally and externally)
The incumbent will formulate and implement
communication, engagement and key Stakeholder management strategies and plans
for the bank and business units with clearly measurable and identifiable goals.
The incumbent will support the bank’s internal
communication agenda, maximize internal publicity and staff engagement through
internal communications channels and tools.
Manage all internal communication channels so that
they are aligned with the Business strategy and governance.
Actively monitor content and style of internal
Plan and implement countrywide internal programmes /
campaigns by developing internal communication strategy.
Develop and maintain effective mutually beneficial
relationship with Group internal Communication teams.
Media Relationship:
In charge of managing media relationships
Develop media contacts to ensure accurate and fair
reporting of bank activities
Spokesman for the bank in respect with Media
response and clarification and also briefing other media spokesperson.
Proactively manage strategic media relations
including research , media training writing media releases, media events
Formulate and Implement Country media relationship
Crisis Management:
Prepare a Crisis management guideline document
including BCM and proposal for all projects that bank undertakes
Prepare corporate responses to incidents that could
become a crisis
In charge of the management of potential or actual
crisis arising from stakeholders, shareholders or other publics.
Public Relations:
Establish and manage sponsorships programs that  contribute toward building the brand and
deliver on business objectives
Manage customer information databases used for or
collated during  events for purposes of
stakeholder relations management and public relations
Support implementation of corporate social
investment programs
Responsible for the submission of awarded entries
into key publications
Events Management and Support:
Conceptualize and support all the various internal
and external events that the bank may host and sponsor
Work in liaison with the various event management
companies that may be contracted for events in the bank
Other Responsibilities:
Assign, supervise and review activities of
Communication Consultants
Manage Communication department budget
Qualifications, Skills and
The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Manager
Communications job opportunity should hold a bachelor’s degree preferably in
Communications and/or Public Relations and/or Marketing.
Professional qualification in communications will be
an added advantage
At least five to ten years’ experience in a public
relations, communications role and /or media/business to business marketing
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the
financial services industry
Experience in working in multi-national
Project management experience
Considerable business acumen and financial
management exposure
Excellent customer delivery orientation
Dexterity in managing teams and working with
multiple stakeholders
