the Abim Community Literacy & Education Enhancement Project (ACLEEP) in
Abim district, Karamoja region in line with the project design and in accordance
with the district’s Education polices and guidelines.
implementation
Carry out community mobilization to participate in
educational development (constructions) to ensure ownership of these facilities
by local populace.
Mentor, supervise and monitor the technical aspects
of construction works ensuring quality implementation of and completion of
buildings in line with the WVU and district standards addressing the particular
response.
Coordinate and implement Abim Community Literacy
& Education Enhancement Project (ACLEEP) in Abim district, Karamoja region.
Ensure that capacities are built for the ACLEEP
Project partners and stakeholders at School, Community and District level.
Implement the Abim Community Literacy &
Education Enhancement (ACLEEP) Project activities in an integrated manner
within the cluster program and with other sectors.
Prepare and deliver quality project inputs on time
and in a comprehensive manner.
Assist the Project Coordinator in rolling out
community engagement activities, activisms and village/parish level advocacies.
Engagement and Networking:
Identify opportunities that present through networks
and relationships with other institutions and organizations and NGOs working in
the areas of community engagement and support to enrollment, Advocacy &
literacy
Identify and build Education sector related
strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners and
other stakeholders in implementation at the project level.
Act as the first point of contact for consultation
on issues to do with Abim Education Quality & Equity Project and any other
Educational issues in the district.
Support local level staff and community structures
in the project area to facilitate local level advocacy, trigger enrollment and
parents’ participation in pupils educations
Capacity Building and Trainings:
Mobilize and conduct training of GEM, SMTs, CRCs,
CCTs, SMCs and PTAs to build capacities on community engagement for literacy
promotion and education enhancement in the district.
Mentor and coach the education community volunteers,
GEM, Activists and Teachers to support community based education, learning and
literacy activities.
Identify Education sectoral technical experts and
resource persons to support project implementation
The incumbent will assist the Project Coordinator on
community capacity building in Education.
Documentation:
Effectively document all information related to
project successes and best practices and sharing it in Education magazines and
special newspaper publications.
Create a bank of pictures, videos, aired radio
programs and most significant change stories on the project in the district.
Responsible for capturing child well-being
indicators literacy, numeracy and life skills in the district.
Conduct Abim Education periodic project output &
outcome monitoring process
Project Management and Coordination:
Mentor, supervise, guide and offer technical support
to partners and technical resource persons in the project area.
Develop project budgets, cost tracking tools and
Detailed Implementation Plans for the ACLEEP annually.
Carry out field based review meetings with SMC, PTAs
and community based literacy facilitators at village, parish and sub county
levels
Prepare and submit timely, accurate, compliant and
quality reports to the direct supervisors.
Keenly track financial management and budgets
allocated for the project
Support processes of project baselines and
evaluation of education project
Ensure that project assets and inputs are managed
within World Vision policies and guidelines.
Experience:
The applicant should hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Education, Social Sciences or SWASA with a diploma in Education as an
additional qualification.
A minimum of three years’ experience in Educational
programming with reputable institution, national or international NGO.
Broad knowledge and understanding of Education
concepts and issues in development context especially in Uganda and Karamoja
sub-region.
Working knowledge of the logical framework approach
to project design, monitoring and evaluation/ project cycle management.
Demonstrated experience and skill in community
action planning, networking and research, analysis and report writing.
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with
a passion for sharing knowledge.
Ability to work with communities in a rural and
local setting of Abim district, Karamoja region.
Knowledge of the native Lebthur language will be an
added advantage. Knowledge of Luo language will be desirable.
Possession of a valid riding permit.
