Director
Zones Authority is mandated to establish, develop, manage, market, maintain,
supervise, control and to provide for other related matters of Free Zones in
Uganda, as outlined in section 13 sub-section 1 to 2 of the Free Zones Act,
2014.
ensure that the organisation has adequate resources (financial, physical and
human capital) to achieve its set strategic targets.
The incumbent will be in charge of overseeing the
Authority’s administrative functions;
Responsible for managing support services;
Managing the implementation of the Human Resource
Manual;
Ensuring availability, distribution and effective
utilization of logistics;
Responsible for the management of UFZA property and
assets;
In charge of managing the procurement of goods and
services for the Authority;
Responsible for managing the Authority’s planning
function;
Develop efficient and effective ICT systems within the
Authority;
Provide financial control of the Authority’s
resources;
Ensuring timely preparation of the budgetary
estimates for the Authority;
Formulate and implement the Authority’s policies and
procedures regarding finance;
Preparation and management of financial accounts;
In charge of the preparation of accountability for
funds allocated to the Authority;
Strengthen appropriate accounting procedures,
controls and risk management system in respect of the UFZA;
Prepare detailed financing plans for the Free Zones
projects;
Prepare Authority cash forecast – Monthly, Quarterly
and annually;
Perform any other duties assigned from time to time
by the Executive Director.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s
degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration (Accounting/
Finance), Financial Management or a related field; from a reputable university.
Possession of an honours Bachelors’ degree in
Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance), or any related field
Professional Accounting Qualification e.g. ACCA,
CPA, CIPFA, etc is a mandatory
At least seven years of related experience in
Financial Management, Accounting and Administration in a reputable
Institution/Organisation
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Keen attention to detail;
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills;
High moral integrity;
Quick thinker and decision maker;
Self-motivation and capability to work under tight
deadline in a competitive environment
Age: Between 35 –
55 years old
