Job Summary: The GL
Accountant will be responsible for enhancing the efficiency of workflow of
accounting, ensuring accuracy and high quality posting in SAP.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Ensure the accuracy of GL accounts and financial
statements.
·        
In charge of designing accounting workflow and
enhance efficiency.
·        
Ensure accounting results meet all our statutory and
legal requirements
·        
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in
accordance with IFRS and compliance to internal policies.
·        
In charge of the preparation and design of financial
/managerial reports for management
·        
Responsible for the preparation and review of
monthly joint interest billing report (JIIP).
·        
Set up and maintain master data of accounting in SAP
and UIP.
·        
Responsible for DD&A booking, common cost
allocation, monthly operating cost accrual.
·        
Responsible for regular and ad hoc analysis.
·        
Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing of the
general ledger.
·        
Quarterly balance sheet and P & L Fluctuation
Analysis.
·        
In charge of conducting monthly expense variance
analyses.
·        
Responsible for the consolidation inter-company transactions
and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting.
·        
Render support in the training and coaching of new
team members.
·        
Interface with management in various departments,
including engineering, sales operations, IT and legal.
·        
Working with both the Internal and external auditors
to ensure a smooth process.
·        
Perform any other duties assigned by superior.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a bachelor’s
degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
·        
Professional accounting ACCA or CPA Certification.
·        
At least three years of related working experience
in a successful multi-national company.
·        
Broad working knowledge of Uganda and international
laws on economics, commerce, financing, accounting.
·        
Working knowledge of GAAP.
·        
Extensive knowledge of the software of SAP
·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of Oil E&P in
Uganda.
