Data Manager / Field Office Coordinator
Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a
partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall
objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on
Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five
operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention,
Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided
through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University
Core Lab) and Outreach.
partnership with its funders and other stakeholders has received funding to
roll out a new pilot project aimed at scaling up pediatric and Adolescent HIV
care in the three districts of Kampala, Hoima and Kibaale over a two year
period. It is hoped that this will in turn help close the pediatric
Antiretroviral Therapy gap and improve HIV services for pediatric and adolescent
clients.
Officers will support the collection, verification, compilation and reporting
of both project specific data and HMIS data collected from the selected health
facilities.
The incumbent will compile, support documentation
and reporting on project specific activities in a timely manner
Ensure that data is captured in the HMIS tools in an
accurate and timely manner
The incumbent will support the compilation of HMIS
reports and timely reporting into the DHIS2.
The incumbent will support and mentor facility staff
on how to collect and report HMIS data.
Ensure completeness, consistency and accuracy of
data captured in the HMIS
The job holder will ensure the availability of
required HMIS tools i.e. registers, forms, guidelines etc.
The incumbent will capture HMIS data into the DHIS2.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Field
Office Data Manager / Field Office Coordinator.
Experience:
The Data Officers must hold degrees in data
management related courses
A minimum of two years’ experience in
data management and analysis in a busy health care setting
Detailed working knowledge and skills of HMIS.
Excellent communication skills
