About UWEP:
The Uganda
Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP) is an initiative of the Government of
Uganda that is aimed at improving access to financial services by women
entrepreneurs and equips them with skills for enterprise growth, value addition
and marketing of their products and services.
Job Summary:  The National Programme Coordinator will provide
leadership in the continuous development, management, coordination and control
of the UWEP and technical support team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will develop and institute Programme
management systems, tools, procedures and plans.
·        
Provide technical information and advice to
stakeholders for UWEP matters.
·        
Coordinate the periodic review of UWEP operational
and management policies.
·        
Prepare quarterly and annually work plans and
budgets for the UWEP.
·        
Ensure proper and timely accountability for all
resources under the UWEP
·        
Manage the performance of members of Technical
Support Unit (TSU)
·        
Actively promote and market UWEP as a Government of
Uganda Programme
·        
Manage feedback and responses related to the
implementation of the programme from the beneficiaries, stakeholder and
communities.
·        
Send performance and financial reports to the
Programme Steering Committee (PSC).
·        
Serve as the secretary of the Programme Steering
Committee (PSC).
·        
Perform any other duty that may be assigned by the
Commissioner Gender and Women Affairs.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate should preferably hold an
Honours Bachelor’s degree in Economics,  Economic
Policy and Planning, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business
Administration/Public Administration from a recognized University.
·        
Possession of a Master’s Degree in any of the
following fields: Economics, Economic Policy and Planning / Social Sciences,
Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration from a
recognized University.
·        
A minimum of five years’ experience in Social
Development related field with the implementation and the management of
Programmes or Skills Development programme or Community development programme.
·        
Computer literacy skills
·        
Broad knowledge and understanding of the Social
Development Sector and Strategic Management
·        
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
·        
High degree of ethics and integrity.
