local and international organizations to promote social and economic change
around the world for overe 40 years. Chemonics is implementing the Feed the
Future Uganda Commodity Production and Marketing (CPM) Activity. CPM is
implemented through a five-year, USAID-funded contract that began in March
2013. CPM increases the wealth and long-term prosperity of rural families in 34
Feed the Future focus districts by using innovative methods to increase the
quantity and quality of beans, coffee and maize that they are able to produce
and sell.
Job Summary: The Maize
Value-Chain Advisor is responsible for packaging and supplying services across
Uganda to CPM’s Regional Business Managers. This will require strong business
and sales related skills as well as technical knowledge of the maize value
chain.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will oversee maize-related sales
support to CPM’s four Regional Business Managers by collaborating with large
scale private sector companies/ exporters and traders to create innovative
initiatives to support the sale and implementation of CPM services across
Uganda.
·        
Identify, vet and broker innovative business plans,
models and concepts from CPM partners that increase access to markets,
financial services, and secure transactions across the maize value chain
·        
Actively promote learning and innovation among
stakeholders that leads to improved competitiveness, greater inclusion of
relevant actors and greater transparency throughout the maize value chain.
·        
Support the development of collaboration with other
FTF and non FTF implementing partners that increase the impact of CPM’s work
along the maize value chain.
·        
Manage CPM’s participation in national maize
commodity platforms and forums to contribute to the sector enhancement in the
country.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should be an MBA or business related
studies private sector experience
·        
At least six to eight years’ experience in business,
sales, marketing of a reputable organization
·        
Strong project management and financial analysis
skills
·        
Strong leadership and teambuilding skills
·        
Excellent communication skills with experience in
building strong client and stakeholder relationships
·        
Creative problem solver who has the ability to come
up with new ideas that relate to strategic goals
·        
Ability to work.in a fast-paced environment and
deliver results on tight deadlines
