Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The range of services and products have
grown beyond General Insurance to include Life Assurance, Property Investments,
Fund Management and related Financial Services such as insurance premium
financing, financial advisory and securities brokerage.
Job Summary: The Underwriting
Manager will be in charge of the oversight, administration, and the control of
the company’s underwriting operations to ensure profitable, quality and timely
service, (add business & product development)         
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Manage sound underwriting (management, assessment
and managing of risks) within for medical business to ensure we accept only
quality business and we remain within the agreed loss ratio
·        
The incumbent will ensure documentation is prepared
correctly and released to customers within the standard of service for
effective service delivery
·        
Ensure that effective business relationships with
all our stakeholders are maintained to assist in meeting overall company
objective
·        
Ensure adherence and compliance with regulatory and
treaty requirements
·        
In charge of signing of accountable documents to
ensure that they are as per terms agreed and that they get the legal effect
·        
Responsible for approving and signing payment cheques
within the authority limits for effective service delivery
·        
Ensure proper management of all security documents
within the department for accounting purposes
·        
Manage staffing, supervision, training, coaching,
mentoring, restructuring of the underwriting function for effective service
delivery and motivation of staff
·        
Ensure the preparation of management report for the
department to advice the status of the department at any time
·        
Oversee product development with medical business to
ensure we remain relevant renewal retention business development / support     
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant must hold a good University degree
·        
Also hold Insurance qualification i.e. A.C.I.I
·        
A minimum of five years of related experience
·        
Working knowledge of insurance market application of
re-insurance
·        
Excellent communication skills
·        
Computer literacy skills
·        
Good assessment and analytical skills
·        
Ability to interact at all levels
·        
Good leadership skills
