Job Summary: The Sociologist
will render support in operationalizing the safeguard monitoring plan, monitor
implementation of the social mitigation measures and liaise with all relevant
authorities for proper and timely project implementation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
In charge of monitoring the implementation of the
social mitigation measures for the projects.
·        
Responsible for monitoring the implementation of the
Resettlement Action Plan and Community Development Action Plan.
·        
Working closely with relevant Ministries, Departments,
Agencies to ensure adequate implementation of all social environmental
requirements in line with relevant policies and laws.
·        
Reviewing the land acquisition and compensation
process with a view of reporting on whether ecological and social aspects have
been complied with;
·        
The incumbent will be supporting the Senior
Sociologist in preparing consolidated monthly social environmental monitoring reports
and monthly reports on the implementation of mitigation measures by
contractors.
·        
Regular review of the Social Environmental
Management Plan and Biodiversity Management Plan.
·        
Preparing and submitting periodic reports.
·        
Performing any other duties as assigned from time to
time
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicants must be Ugandans who hold Honours
Bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Social Administration, Sociology,
Anthropology or any other relevant Social Science discipline obtained from a
recognized institution of higher learning.
·        
At least three years’ relevant working experience
preferably in social safeguards on infrastructure development projects.
·        
Past exposure and experience in mobilizing community
groups, designing and implementing community outreach and capacity building
programs
·        
Highly proactive with working knowledge of
communities
·        
Excellent team player
·        
Excellent Negotiation Skills
·        
High degree of integrity, reliability and resilience
