Information Systems Manager

Environment Management Authority (NEMA) was established under the National
Environment Act Cap. 153 to coordinate, monitor, enforce and supervise all
activities in the field of environment for purposes of ensuring sustainable
development in Uganda
Officer will ensure that all computer systems, networks are working and up to
date which aids the coordination of environmental information systems at NEMA,
lead agencies and Local Governments
Regularly maintain NEMA’s IT Equipment;
Develop an IT Strategy for NEMA;
Maintain and manage NEMA’s Local Area Network (LAN)
system;
The incumbent will also manage the internet
connectivity and advise the Authority on any issues for the good functioning of
the internet;
Carry out regular installations, testing,
modifications, evaluation of all networks and data communication systems;
Actively monitor network security, distribute
software grades and enforce Network license agreements;
Institute NEMA’s back-up system for data safety;
Document existing IT infrastructure in collaboration
with NEMA’s Registry;
Offer day today help desk support to the network and
computer users;
Identify trouble spots and ensure that any problems
are mitigated to ensure that there is no interruption in NEMA’s day-to-day operations;
Provide basic training to individual staff to assist
users to be well versed with resources at their disposal;
Conduct periodic preventive maintenance of NEMA’s
computers and peripheral equipment;
In charge of the identification of user requirements
/ needs
Responsible for developing ICT and Security policies
for NEMA and ensuring that there are adhered to
Managing all ICT Projects in NEMA and preparing
weekly reports for discussion with the Supervisor;
Ensuring that the NEMA website is updated with the
latest information.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the
Management.
Experience:
The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in
any of the following: Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
and Information Systems.
Possession of a Master’s Degree in any of the above
is a must.
Professional / industry ICT certifications such as
MCITP, CCNA, Linux Plus etc.. is an added advantage.
A minimum of five or more years of professional experience
in Information Technology and Information systems.
Ability to work under minimal supervision

and informed decisions.
