About ESC:
The Education
Service Commission (ESC) is established by article 167 91) of the 1995 Constitution
of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its functions, authority
and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of Education Service
Commission is to see “quality education delivered by efficient and effective
education service personnel.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Offer technical support and guidance on the implementation
of policies, plans and guidelines on the provision of Special
Needs Education in Schools and Training Institutions;

Actively participate in the development and
dissemination of instruction and other materials for teachers/ instructors and
learners for Special Needs education;

Work closely with relevant Departments, Agencies and
other stakeholders on the development and promotion of Special Needs Education
and Training in the Country;

respect of Special Needs Education and Training at the Local Government and
National levels;

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:

The applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s Degree
in Special Needs Education and Training or an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in
Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Education and Training
from a recognized University or Training Institution.
