About NFA:
The National
Forestry Authority (NFA) is a Government agency established under the National
Forestry and Tree Planting Act, 2003 as a corporate body responsible for
sustainable development and management of Central Forest Reserves (CFRs) and
provision of technical support to stakeholders in the forest sub-sector.

Job Summary: The Eco-Tourism Specialist should ensure the
development and effective management of ecotourism sites and business in
selected Central Forest Reserves.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage the implementation of NFA
Ecotourism Development Plan and guidelines.

Coordinate the development of public private
partnerships for management of ecotourism businesses in CFR’s.

Develop market and promote ecotourism sites under
the management of NFA.

The job holder will implement unit plans, budgets and
ensure regular progress reports.

Actively monitor environmental impacts associated
with development of infrastructure and ecotourism services by private sector.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:

The ideal candidate should hold an Honours degree in
Tourism or a related field. Postgraduate training in tourism is an added
advantage

A minimum of three years’ experience in business
management working with Private or public sector tourism entity.
