University (UMU)

University (UMU) is a faith-based private university established in 1993, and
owned by the Uganda Episcopal Conference. UMU received a civil University
Charter in 2005 from government, to legitimize its existence and autonomy. UMU
offers full-time, weekend/part time, and distance-learning courses. Students
are drawn from a variety of backgrounds and countries like Uganda, the rest of
Africa and world-wide.
Responsible for managing and supervising staff
deployed in the Finance Department.
Offer technical direction and support in regard to
management of University finances.
Prepare annual budget of income and expenditure for
the University.
Prepare at the end of each financial year, a
statement of accounts for annual audit and other management decisions.
The incumbent will manage the University cash flow
including funds from donor projects
Collect and account for all dues of the University
including fees, sales and other payments.
Keep correct records of all monies due to the
University from rents, fund raising, donations, grants etc.
Disburse University funds against approved vouchers.
Keep correct and accurate records of all assets and
property of the University.
Perform any other duty assigned to him/her by the
relevant authority.
Experience:
The applicant should hold a Master’s Degree in
Financial Accounting and Management or its equivalent.
Additional qualification in professional courses
like ACCA/CPA and membership of ICPA (U) is an added advantage.
A minimum of three years’ experience as a Finance
Officer in a recognised institution.
Excellent track record of service to community.
