leading HR Consultancy firm, seeks to recruit for its valuable client, an
international high-quality bakery business with a strong focus on sourdough
bread and traditional preparation methods. The company has five (5) shops in
Kampala and one in Jinja.
Job Summary:  The Finance Manager will be responsible for
maintaining financial and accounting discipline in order to meet business and
legislative requirements and support company operations to maximize efficiency
and healthy cash flow.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will manage the financial accounting
process;
·        
Administer and actively monitor the financial system
in order to ensure that company finances are collected and maintained in an
accurate timely manner
·        
The incumbent will also manage the company’s finance
team
·        
Manage the accounts of the company
·        
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
·        
Support management in the development,
implementation and management of a brand new Content Management System (CMS)
·        
Responsible for end of month closing of books
·        
In charge of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
·        
Create full insight in production efficiency
·        
Keenly analyze sales and costs and propose
strategies for increasing sales and lowering costs
·        
Responsible for internal controls to counter
fraud/theft
·        
File monthly taxes
·        
Develop company investments decision and/or validate
management’s decisions
·        
Carry out monthly payroll
·        
Work closely with the Company’s external auditors
and other finance/tax professional advisors.
·        
Create a company dashboard to inform management and
shareholders on company performance.
·        
Manage cash flow
·        
Prepare and circulate regular cash flow plan to
support business processes
·        
Manage and prepare bank reconciliations
·        
Hold fully reconciled reasonable petty cash float
·        
Drive debt collection to make sure that all debt is
paid within payment terms
·        
Maintain the accounts payable and accounts
receivable systems in order to ensure complete and accurate records of all
moneys
·        
Treasury functions
·        
Ensure all collected cash is working effectively for
the business
·        
Provide adequate foreign exchange at correct rates
to pay external suppliers
·        
Cash liquidity plan and control
·        
Management of interests and bank charges etc.
·        
Maintaining healthy bank relationships
·        
Statutory and business compliance
·        
Provide full support to always achieve a timely
unqualified audit report
·        
Prepare audit schedules to facilitate smooth
external audit process
·        
Process Statutory Payments and Registration in a timely
manner
·        
VAT, PAYE and Income Tax
·        
Understand Statutory / Registrations in market of
operations to ensure compliance
·        
Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations;
·        
Ensure compliance with internal policies and
investors’ requirements.
·        
Management information
·        
Generate timely monthly financial statements
·        
Provide timely monthly Management Accounts with
support from other Finance Officers
·        
Provide analysis of performance compared to budget
(for revenue and expenses)
·        
Keep trend analysis of key financial performance
indicators (KPI)
·        
Prepare quarterly reports and report on variances
·        
Support the Managing Director in the preparation of
Board and Shareholder meetings papers
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree or
higher preferably in accounting or finance
·        
Member of Institute of the ACCA
·        
At least three years’ work experience, obtained in a
finance administration management, including experience of working with
internal and or external auditors
·        
Past experience of working with QuickBooks (pre)
·        
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (to be proven in
the interview)
·        
Working knowledge of and experience of Uganda’s tax
laws and regulations
·        
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·        
Strong organizational and leadership skills
·        
At ease in working in a small structure,
start-up-type, where tasks and responsibilities are in constant move
·        
Able to operate in a multicultural environment
·        
High level of autonomy at work, yet with profound
team-spirit
·
