The National
Animal Genetics Resources Centre and Data Bank, (NAGRC&DB) is a body
corporate under the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries whose
mandate is to take a leading role in establishing a comprehensive National
Animal Breeding Programme in Uganda.

Job Summary: The Executive Director will provide technical oversight
to the Board and the entire organisation in matters of animal (including
poultry and fish) breeding, act as the Chief Executive officer of the Centre,
subject to the general guidance of the Board, responsible for the funds and
properties as well as the entire day- to–day administration of the affairs of
the Centre and for the control of all employees of the Centre.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

The applicants must be Ugandans with a basic degree
in either Veterinary Medicine or Animal Science plus a Master’s degree in the
above fields from a recognized university.

Possession of a postgraduate degree at a level of
PhD is an added advantage.

The ideal candidates must have a minimum of ten (10)
years of post-qualification experience and at least seven (7) years at
management level of a reputable organisation and possess a demonstrated
capacity in organisation coordination and financial management.
