The Education
Service Commission (ESC) is established by article 167 91) of the 1995 Constitution
of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its functions, authority
and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of Education Service
Commission is to see “quality education delivered by efficient and effective
education service personnel.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Take overall responsibility as Head of the
Directorate of Industrial Training.

Give support in the establishment of Uganda Vocational
Qualification framework.

Ensure systematic monitoring and follow-up of work
progress and achievements and appraise staff.

Build networks and organize conferences and meetings
to provide platform for dialogue, exchange and policy input.

Re-direct further DIT’s position as the country’s
reference centre to vocational assessment and Certification and raise its

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
·
The applicant should preferably hold a Master’s
Degree in Engineering; or Education; or Management related field from a
recognized University or Training Institution.

A minimum of fifteen years’ experience, three (3) of
which should have been at Commissioner Level in the Education and Training
field.
