Job Summary: The Communications
Specialist will support the entity in developing and/or implementing its
corporate communication strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for communicating
with and engaging partners to foster a good image and support towards
implementation of the entity’s mandate.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
Drawing and implementing approved project
communication strategy
Working closely with media organizations
In charge of initiating the development of
information, education and communication materials;
Initiating, planning, and organizing public
relations/promotions and advertising campaigns for the project according to the
activity calendar and the communication strategy
Preparing and publishing/distribution of project
image materials
Conceiving and initiating procurement of necessary
media consultants and service providers
Managing and directing media consultants and service
Collating, processing and analyzing all project
information and documentation
The incumbent was working as the first point of call
for all routine public enquires
Organizing media briefings and press conferences
Preparing and send periodic reports.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Project
Qualifications, Skills and
The job holder must be a Ugandan who holds an Honors
degree in mass communication studies, public relations, from a recognized
university/institution. Possession of a post graduate qualification in a public
relations/ communications field will be of added advantage.
A minimum of four years’ experience two (2) of which
should have been served at a senior level in a large to medium size enterprise.
Proven exposure and experience in ICT and social
media platforms
Prior experience in events management at national
and or regional campaigns.
Working knowledge and understanding of several local
Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of
modern office technology
Good diplomatic etiquette in dealing with both internal
and external clients at all levels,
Ability to disseminate information effectively and
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
High degree of integrity, reliability and resilience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in
