The Uganda Law
Reform Commission is established under Article 248(1) of the Constitution of
the Republic of Uganda. Its primary mandate is to study and keep under constant
review the Acts and all other laws comprising the laws of Uganda with a view to
making recommendations for their systematic improvement, development, modernisation
and reform.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be deputising the head of
department – Law Revision;

Supporting the Commissioner of law revision in
day-to-day administration and management of the department;

In charge of planning for all activities of the
department;

Ensuring efficient and effective co-ordination of
law revision, simplification of laws, translation of laws, integration and
unification of the law;

Work closely with Government departments and
stakeholders in the tasks of consolidating or revising the laws of Uganda;

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
·
The applicants should be Ugandans and should hold Honours
Degrees in law from recognized universities and diplomas in legal practice.

At least nine (9) years of relevant working
experience, three of which should be at the level of Principal Legal officer in
government or equivalent experience from a reputable organisation.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle
a multi-disciplinary team;
