Carry out data collection training
The incumbent will be tasked with pre-testing data
collection instruments
Carry out in-depth interviews with program officers,
community authorities, and program beneficiaries in potentially remote areas
Supervise note-taker in transcription of data
Responsible for drafting coding scheme and code
select interviews
Write summaries of themes
The Qualitative Data Collection Specialist should
have experience in conducting in-depth interviews and qualitative data analysis
At least five years of professional research
experience in social sciences, health programs
The applicant must hold a good Master’s degree in
public health or community health, international development, monitoring and evaluation
or other related field preferred
Working knowledge of local Uganda language(s)
Past exposure and experience with HIV/AIDS or
orphans and vulnerable children programs
Prior experience working with program financed by
international donors, preferably USAID
