Administration Coordinator
Uganda
Development is an international non-profit organization which is embarking on
becoming the global banner carrier for youth-led development; demonstrating at
the grassroots and policy levels that young people can and must play a lead
role in development. Over the past five years, Restless Development has more
than tripled the size of its budgets and programmes, and has been repeatedly
cited as a model of best practice in youth-led development by the World Bank,
DFID, UNICEF and others.
Maintain Restless Development Vehicle (30%)
Complete all required daily, weekly, monthly and
other vehicle checks as per policy.
Regularly report to the FAC regarding any
maintenance or repair needs
Accompany the vehicle to mechanics for repairs and
maintenance
The incumbent will drive in safe and efficient
manner to protect the vehicle and ensure longevity
Conscientiously report information in the logbook
and fuel logbook
Ensure the vehicle is always clean inside as well as
outside.
Carry out daily vehicle pre-departure checklist
mentioned in the logbook.
Keenly inspect the vehicle to ensure that it is
always ready for travels.
Ensure the vehicle has a full first aid kit as well
as and emergency kit always
Regularly check that the vehicle has all the items
required for efficiency
Maintain all legal documents in vehicle as required
by law
The incumbent should be well versed and conversant
with vehicle policy
Transport staff to programme areas safely (50%)
Responsible for the timely transportation of staff
and goods as required to destinations as required
Be available at office premises in time to transport
the staff for official duties within or out of town.
Ensure that you have a vehicle request for all
official travel with staff.
The incumbent will transport the staff for all
official duties as required
Report any accidents immediately to the nearest
police station and to the field office in line with the policy.
Follow restless Development guidelines for travelling
and speed limits
Respect Restless Development standard operating
procedures for vehicles use.
Respect the manufacture’s technical conditions of
use for the vehicle.
Administrative Support (15%)
The incumbent will collect biweekly vehicle use requests
and plan accordingly
Create vehicle use calendar with the FAC
Technically support the FAC Aon non-vehicle
administrative work as required
Other (5%): Other duties as required, sometimes requiring working on weekends and
holidays for which time off in lieu can be taken.
Experience:
The Driver should hold a current clean driver’s
licence
At least three years driving experience
Excellent organisational skills
Fluency in English with exceptional written and
verbal communication skills
Show personal commitment to the values, aims and
methods of Restless
Development
Ability to travel regularly to rural areas and spend
nights if necessary
Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
Ability to analyse problems and make sound
operational decisions
Passion, enthusiasm and interest in Restless
Development’s mission, honest and trustworthy, willing to engage and support
non-financial activities
Knowledge and understanding of contemporary
development issues particularly of Peace Building, Sexual Reproductive Health,
Livelihoods, and Youth Inclusion is desired
Prior experience working in a youthful,
multicultural environment is also an added advantage
Previous experience as a volunteer with Restless
Development or other organization is desired
Personal Qualities: Individual
must be results oriented, highly self-motivated, have demonstrated analytical
skills
