Resources Ltd. owns Tira Gold mine, located in south east of Uganda, near Busia
town of Uganda. Tira Gold mine has a long standing mining history. Mining has
been carried out on this mine since 1930s intermittently. Currently, the mine
has one operational underground mine with development at 54 mtr level. We have plans
to sink shaft from 54 mtr level up to 84 mtr level and develop one more level
at 84 mtr level. The company plans to start opencast mining.
Job Summary:  The Mining Engineer will be leading the mining
team. He will ensure the safe and efficient development of current underground
mine and other surface and underground operations in near future. The role
combines an understanding of the effects of these structures on their
surrounding environment, technical knowledge and management skills. He will be
involved at all stages of a project. Before a new site is developed, he shall
asses its viability and assist with planning the mine’s structure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will plan and design shaft sinking;
Monitor shaft sinking contractor
·        
Carry out safe mining operations in current underground
mine
·        
Pit design for opencast mining
·        
Oversee opencast mining
·        
Grade control & mine plan development for
current underground mine
·        
Manage PTV infrastructure & rail infrastructure
·        
Assessing the commercial viability of new mining
ventures;
·        
In charge of modelling or designing potential mine
sites;
·        
Overseeing major construction projects and ensuring
that operations run smoothly;
·        
Ensuring the safety of mining equipment and
assessing mine equipment supplies;
·        
Manage the health and safety of the mine
·        
Managing monthly budgets and keeping detailed
records
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Mining
Engineer from a reputable University
·        
At least ten years of related experience in mining;
underground mining -min. 5 years & surface mining – min. 5 years.
