I-Train and
Evaluate Center (i-TEC) is the first locally female-owned firm of its kind in
Africa, established in 2008 to provide a range of services in specialized
program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) that include the following:
Evaluations (Mid-term, Final and Impact), Design of M&E Systems, Performance
assessments and Results Mapping; Capacity Building (Including Trainings in M&E),
Data Quality Assessments; Organizational Capacity Assessments (OCAT), to
mention but a few. I-TEC is a fast-paced, innovative environment, where we work
in several African countries in partnership with many different clients such as
USAID, Bill and Melinda 
Gates
Foundation (BMGF), International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), UN Women,
UNDP, etc.
Job Summary: The M&E
Specialist/Statistician will support all i-TEC projects, respond to proposals
and conduct of evaluations in the field. The incumbent will be expected to
provide technical assistance in design of data collection instruments, sampling
frameworks, research, data analysis and other relevant i-TEC activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Offer M&E technical support on i-TEC projects
such as data collection, entry and analysis, performance monitoring, report
writing etc.
·        
Carry out research (desk and field)
·        
Search and respond to relevant bids for proposals
·        
Technically support i-TEC offered trainings in
performance management, data quality, and evaluative research where necessary
·        
Support in drafting dissemination products
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant should preferably hold a Master’s
degree or its equivalent in the social sciences such as Development Studies, Economics,
and/or Statistics from a reputable institution
·        
Technical competence in the fields of Statistical
analysis tools and either Health or Education or Welfare Economics
·        
A minimum of five years of relevant work experience
in the Monitoring and Evaluation field and applied statistics
·        
Three to five years hands-on experience of working
with various donors
·        
Previous exposure and experience on evaluation teams
or with comparable data collection efforts
·        
Prior experience writing reports, training others
and facilitating workshop in various aspects of performance monitoring and
evaluation is also a valuable asset
·        
Past experience with data collection procedures,
manipulation of large databases
·        
Possess the ability to work as an integral part of a
professional team, set priorities and handle a large volume of activities as
and when required
·        
Excellent organizational, oral and written
communication in English and interpersonal skills
·        
Computer literacy i.e. skills in Ms. Excel, Word,
SPSS, Epi Info and STATA with practical and applied experience
·        
Excellent report and proposal writing skills
