Council of Uganda (IRCU)
Council of Uganda (IRCU) is a national Faith-Based Non-Government Organization
comprising of the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of Uganda, the Uganda
Orthodox Church, the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, the Seventh-day Adventist
Church, the Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches. IRCU’s Vision is: ‘a divinely
peaceful, united, prosperous Uganda where all people enjoy full health and
freedoms for the common good.’ The Council implements a range of programs
namely HIV/AIDS and Public Health, Gender Based Violence Prevention, Peace,
Justice and Governance.
Assistant will provide a wide range of services to actively promote and support
the use of ICT systems and facilities within the various departments of IRCU in
line with the ICT strategies and guidelines.
Support in the development, implementation and review
of ICT systems and procedures
Take part in designing and implementing the ICT
budget for the organization and make orders of required items as per the
organizational goals
Oversight and maintenance of web site and data
Responsible for coaching and training system users and
providing timely systems support.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the IT
Manager.
The IT Assistant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Information Technology, Management, Computer Science, from a
recognized University
A minimum of three years’ working experience in the
same position
Prior exposure and experience in advising and
supporting users, development, implementation and on-going systems
administration
Excellent organizational, attention to detail and
coordination skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision, exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Flexible in approach and receptive to new ideas and
ways of working, including ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to train users on a variety of software
applications, impart knowledge and
encourage others; prepare and deliver effective reports/presentations in one to
one, group and formal settings.
Prior experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office
applications, experience (Word, Excel,
Access, PowerPoint, FrontPage) or Macintosh, and Web technologies, protocols,
and tools including HTML, CSS
Ability to analyze business problems and recommend
suitable ICT solutions where appropriate.
Ability to be a self-starter and work on own
initiative, but also work closely with others.
Ability to understand and interpret technical
information and share information with non-technical users.
