assets and earnings. Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited is the largest bank in Uganda
by assets and market capitalization. It offers a full range of banking services
through two business units; Personal and Business Banking (PBB), and Corporate
and Investment Banking (CIB).
Banking and Business PBB products function for Stanbic Bank Uganda has been
operating in a segmented structure approach. The various PBB markets, i.e
Personal Banking and Business Banking were supported by dedicated teams with
the Personal Markets team having 12 product staff members while the Business
Banking team had 2 product staff handling only the Transactional and
Liabilities products. The BB lending products were handled at Segment level by
the various segment and Proposition Heads. The
fragmentation of the products function led to some segments being more
profitable given the level of attention that they got compared to others. In addition, it
was hard for the Segment and proposition heads to run after the sales,
relationship management and also run with the product management. Furthermore, a
PBB 2015 advisory product audit sited that despite the effort that had been
made to align the products in the various segments, there was need to form a
fully-fledged product house domiciled in one place to deal with the product
management and governance issues in a more holistic approach under one
umbrella.
will support the Bank’s Unsecured Lending Manager in the delivering of the
expected ROE for unsecured lending product with in the set risk appetite
UPL balance sheet growth and sustainability:
UPL product performance in line with the set Risk
Appetite metrics
Provide branch and segment target setting and
support
Responsible for the implementation of agreed UPL
strategies
In charge of the conceptualisation and implementation
of new products/services
Oversee retention and management of existing loan
book with intentional cross-sell activities on top ups
Product Insights and analysis by segment per product
Tactical marketing initiatives to stimulate the
balance sheet
Responsible for conducting periodic competitor
analysis
CRMC product paper annual update
Effective product interest rate management and
product pricing
The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank Officer,
Unsecured Lending Products career opportunity should preferably hold a good Bachelor’s
Degree
Broad product knowledge
Working knowledge of product related systems
Skills in client retention
