The Electricity
Regulatory Authority (ERA) is a statutory body established in accordance with
the Electricity Act, 1999 (Cap. 145 of the Laws of Uganda). The Act empowers
ERA to regulate the Generation, Transmission, Sale, Export, Import and
Distribution of electrical energy in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Consumer
Affairs Assistant will support the Consumer Affairs Office in implementing
sustainable consumer protection mechanisms through coordination of consumer
complaints handling and the advocacy programs of the Authority. The incumbent
will also coordinate the development, design, production and dissemination of
ERA’s Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Receive, compile, record and file all consumer
complaints in both hard and soft copies.
·        
Follow up on consumer complaints for resolution with
Licensees.
·        
The incumbent will oversee the mini contact centre
for complaints registration and provision of feedback to consumers.
·        
Direct requests and unresolved issues to the
responsible Officers.
·        
Manage the production of ERA’s IEC materials.
·        
Disseminate the ERA publications and other IEC
materials through various means and fora.
·        
Perform any other official duties as may be
reasonably assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicants should hold Honour’s degrees in Mass
Communication, Arts, Social Sciences or a related discipline from formally
recognized institutions.
·        
Possession of a post graduate training in Journalism
or Copy Editing is an added advantage.
·        
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in
a busy organization.
·        
Result oriented with good communication skills.
·        
Excellent analytical skills.
·        
Good reading and writing skills.
·        
Age: Above 35 years
