Mobilization Advisor
Duty Station: Kasese, Uganda
Frontieres (MSF) is an international independent medical humanitarian
organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict,
epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from health care.
Mobilization Focal Mentor will support MSF by participating in the assessment,
definition, implementation, supervision and evaluation of community health
awareness and promotion in Kasese Municipality and fishing communities. The incumbent will also implement the
promotion of MSF identity and services among the target demographic with a view
to fostering knowledge, acceptance and utilization of the medical services
offered.
Community awareness and mobilization:
will actively support the formulation of an adapted community sensitization and
awareness strategy (in collaboration with CMO)
local/national and/or international actors involved in service provision for
adolescents in the district and work with the CMO to engage and collaborate
with them
facilitate the linkage with local actors/partners or authorities involved in
service delivery for SGBV in order to ensure comprehensive care
appointments with the management of local institutions (schools), or
adolescents association or adolescent gatherings and implement health awareness
for them
will also implement patient or client tracing when requested by the medical staff
for treatment defaulters
Take part in the regular review and modification of
mobilization strategy together with the medical team
Mentor and supervise the community mobilization team
and health educator at the clinic
Identify training needs and organise training
sessions for the community mobilization and health education staff
Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a University
degree or diploma in social sciences, Social communication, health promotion,
Public Health or related studies desirable
Prior experience in relevant / similar postings
(health promotion, community awareness, health advocacy, etc.). A previous MSF/
NGO experience will be an added advantage
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, internet,
ppt.)
Broad background in working with issues related to
youth and adolescents will be an added advantage
Exhibit commitment, Flexibility, Results, Teamwork
Essential written and verbal competencies in
English. The local language skills (Swahili, Lukonjo) a definite advantage but
not mandatory
