Director
Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) was established as a statutory
body under the National Information Technology Authority, Uganda Act, 2009 as
one of the key players in the Information and Communications Technology Sector.
Its mandated is to coordinate, promote and monitor IT development within the
context of national social and economic development, with a vision as “a
facilitator of a knowledge-based, globally competitive Uganda where social
transformation and economic development is supported through IT enabled
services.”
E-Government Services will be responsible for developing and managing
application development, delivery, hosting and commercialisation capability for
public sector and also support private sector clients.
Actively promote and provide technical guidance for
the establishment of eGovernment, e-Commerce and other e-Transactions in
Uganda.
The incumbent will promote integration of Government
IT systems
Provide information management services through
acting as a records management facility and an information repository.
The incumbent will also promote data and information
sharing in Government.
Promote awareness and develop capacity for
e-Government applications and services.
Promote the development of interoperable and secure
e-Government applications.
The incumbent will steer electronic content
development.
Develop support services for e-Government.
Manage and promote the development of Business
Process Outsourcing (BPO) /Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) industry.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a Master’s degree in
Computer Science or related discipline
Accreditations from relevant professional
bodies/associations e.g. MSCE, Certified Information Systems Auditor
(CISA),Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project
Management etc
A minimum of ten years’ experience in management of
enterprise IT systems, five years should have been at senior management level.
Significant experience in development of enterprise
architecture
Previous exposure and experience in development and
management of shared IT services.
