About US:
Uganda Tourism
Board (UTB) is a statutory organization established by Uganda Tourism Board
Statute of 1994 and reconstituted in the Tourism Act 2008. It’s objectives are:
·        
To promote and contribute to the Development of
Tourism sector both within and outside of Uganda.
·        
To coordinate with the Ministry responsible for
Tourism and the private sector in the implementation of the National Tourism
policy.
Job Summary:  The Marketing Officers will be responsible for
marketing Uganda as an attractive preferred tourist destination of choice domestically,
regionally, and globally.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Take part in the implementation of UTB marketing
strategy.
·        
Ensures UTB’s participation in Tourism promotional
events locally and internationally.
·        
Ensure destination brand development and enhancement
in all key source Markets and activations.
·        
Ensures marketing surveys, data collection,
dissemination and use of marketing intelligence in strategic decision making.
·        
Process all customer care inquiries with timely
feedback.
·        
Actively participate in Departmental Budget planning
and Development processes.
·        
Carry out online marketing on different platforms to
market destination Uganda.
·        
Support in capacity development for the private
sector and tourism clusters.
·        
Performs any other official duties assigned by the
superiors from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicants should hold an Honors Bachelor’s
degree in Marketing, Tourism, OR Leisure/Hotel and Hospitality Management, Bachelor
of Commerce or Entrepreneurship.
·        
A minimum of five years’ experience in tourism
marketing operations, three of which should have been at senior level in
Government or equivalent from a reputable Organization.
·        
Keen interest and understanding of the tourism and
marketing fields.
·        
Possession of a postgraduate training  in one of the above disciplines is mandatory
·        
Knowledge of at least one foreign language besides
English is an added advantage
·        
Computer proficiency
·        
Self-starter, results driven and commercially aware.
·        
Highly innovative and creative.
·        
Ability to work in a team environment with
colleagues, with limited supervision.
·        
Age: Below 35 years
of age
