machinery into East Africa. It has headquarters based in Kampala Uganda with a
European office in the Netherlands.  Afrimech’s
strength is that it has a local sales team on the ground in Kampala providing
all aspects of immediate sales support including importation, transportation
and technical backup when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent will primarily develop and implement
the approved sales and marketing strategy.
·        
Take part in the development of sales material.
·        
Responsible for prospecting for new customers.
·        
Retain existing customers by presenting new
solutions and services to them.
·        
Send weekly sales and marketing reports to the
Country Director.
·        
Manage the distribution network which includes
logistics and fleet management.
·        
Collect market intelligence to identify  threats and growth areas.
·        
Train and mentor staff in the area of business
development.
·        
Maintain a client database with a tracking tool for
progress.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The Sales Manager should preferably hold a
bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
·        
At least five years’ experience in sales or
marketing.
·        
Past experience in the field of sales of
construction equipment or other related capital goods such as farming
equipment, industrial equipment is an added advantage.
·        
Computer literacy i.e. working knowledge of
Microsoft office.
·        
Ability to communicate effectively in English both
orally and written.
·        
Ability to deliver set results.
·        
Ability to pursue high standards in line with agreed
organizational values and standards of professionalism.
·        
Ability to effectively plan and organize.
·        
Good networking and negotiating skills.
·        
Ability to generate original and imaginative ideas
and solutions to problems.
