Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Plan and implement an Environment, Health and Safety
(EHS) strategy
·        
Develop, implement and review H&S policy and
procedures.
·        
The incumbent will also oversee and audit H&S
regulatory / corporate compliance and report/ investigate incident / accident
and near misses.
·        
Offer expert direction and support on EHS matters to
Management.
·        
Responsible for monitoring and evaluation of EHS
implementation
·        
Routinely investigate complaints relating to
employees health & safety.
·        
Regularly inspect / audit the workplace, health and
safety tools and equipment.
·        
In charge of developing health and safety programmes
/ system to ensure compliance by all employees
·        
Identify safety training needs, organise and
coordinate EHs trainings.
·        
Develop mange emergency response systems in
accordance with the local regulations.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The Environment, Health and Safety Manager should
hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognised University.
·        
Applicants should be in possession of a certificate
training in Environment Health and Safety.
·        
A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar
role in a large Organisation
·        
The applicants should preferably be Ugandan citizens
or have permanent residence in Uganda
·        
The applicant must possess registration with
professional / regulatory organisation as an expert or adviser.
·        
Working knowledge of local international and
security sector legislation
·        
Be disciplined and possess a high degree of
integrity
·        
Excellent communication and people management
skills.
·        
A good team player.
·        
Customer and results oriented.
·        
Highly objective, decisive and pay attention.
