Consulting Ltd is an HR consultancy company which seeks to recruit on behalf of
its valued client, a leading commercial bank operating in Uganda for over the
last 20years providing a full range of prudential lending and investment
products.
will take the overall management of the bank’s balance sheet to achieve the
stated goals and objectives of the bank through:-
Managing, control and continuous upgrade of the banks
risk management strategies.
Managing and directing the activities of the dealing
team to ensure achievement of established targets
In charge of promoting, controlling and
co-coordinating bank’s treasury business with a view of maximizing income
derived from trading and financing activities within ALCO and regulatory guidelines
Routinely communicate the bank’s strategic direction
and objectives and ensure alignment of divisional goals and activities with the
banks vision, mission and corporate goals and objectives
Continually reassess the banks policies and
practices relating to treasury division and champion the articulation and
implementation of the necessary changes in line with best practices
Provide leadership and guidance to departmental
staff and coordinate activities within the division to ensure compliance with
the banks internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory and statutory
requirements
Coordinate and manage the development of the
division budget
Ensure the judicious management of the banks
liquidity to meet all likely contingencies in line with ALCO guidelines.
Build and strengthen working relationships with
Treasurers of other banks, discount houses and top management of BOU and other
regulators
Manage the trading and marketing activities of the
units within the division in line with the Bank’s Business objectives and
strategic plan.
Ensure compliance with internal and statutory
imposed regulations
Act on behalf of and perform other duties whenever
mandated by the CEO/MD
The applicant should preferably hold a first degree
or its equivalent in any discipline. A relevant post graduate or professional
business qualification (ACI, ACA, CPA)
A minimum of ten years’ experience with a minimum of
5(five) years in treasury and three (3) years managerial/supervisory capacity
Detailed knowledge and understanding of debt, and
balance sheet management with emphasis on dynamics of Uganda money market,
foreign exchange market, and capital market operations
Good Knowledge of liability management, interest
rate risk management and contingency funding
Good appreciation of credit
Good FX and Amaoney Market dealing experience
Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Ugandan
banking system, capital market operations and good exposure to other
international banking systems
Detailed understanding of liquidity management and
funding techniques
Ability to demonstrate commitment to ethical
standards and high level of integrity
A motivational team leader
Excellent communication Skills (written & oral)
