Dfcu bank is a fast growing
commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU
Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the
United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development
Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda
Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International
Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25%
stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development
projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing
financial commercial lending institutions.

Job Summary:  The Head of Distribution will provide overall leadership
to branches in the areas of Risk Management and operational control, customer
service, Sales management, people management and franchise development to
ensure branch profitability in line with the overall bank strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

·        
Significantly drive the development and execution of
strategy for consumer banking department.

·        
Communicate strategy changes to Regional Managers.

·        
In charge of developing and communicating an annual
plan to optimize the financial, human and physical resources.

·        
Support branches to ensure compliance to processes
and procedures and minimize operational risk.

·        
Oversee the overall profitability of the branch
network.

·        
Regularly review performance of all branches.

·        
The incumbent will also prepare business cases for
new branch locations.

·        
Identify and recommend areas of improvement for existing
products and processes.

·        
Communicate and monitor customer service standards
across the branch network.

·        
Manage branch performance standards to achieve
desired objectives.

·        
Ensure that consumer banking loan portfolio in
branches is maintained within the set standards.

·        
The incumbent will act as a link between Head office
and Branches by liaising with other business heads to ensure that branches get
adequate and timely support from the support functions.

·        
Routinely review of optimal staffing levels in
branches to increase staff productivity.

·        
Provide supervision, training, coaching and
mentoring to staff, to keep a motivated team.

·        
Support employee training and development programs.

·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of
Consumer Banking

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 

·        
The Head of Distribution should preferably hold a university
degree in Business related discipline.

·        
A minimum of eight years’ experience in branch
banking and operations.

·        
Detailed working knowledge and understanding of
banking operations and administration.

·        
Working knowledge of organizational structure, workflow,
and operating procedures.

·        
Good business acumen.

·        
Excellent People Management skills.

·        
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication
skills.

·        
Proactive approach to work with a high level of
maturity and self-drive.

·        
Ability to supervise, and train staff, including
organizing, prioritizing, profiling and scheduling work assignments.

·        
Employee development and performance management
skills.

·        
High level of integrity and ethical standards.

·        
Working knowledge of excellent customer service
standards.
