Service Commission is established by article 167 91) of the 1995 Constitution
of the Republic of Uganda and article 168 (1) sets out its functions, authority
and autonomy in implementing its mandate. The vision of Education Service Commission
is to see “quality education delivered by efficient and effective education
service personnel.”
Secretary will provide efficient and effective secretarial services
The incumbent will take and transcribe dictation and
produce error free work;
Organize meetings and circulate decisions to the
relevant action officers;
Receive and guide clients to relevant offices;
Manage and account for office equipment, materials and
office imprest
Manage activities of the lower Secretarial staff.
Perform any other duties assigned by the relevant authority
Experience:
The applicant should hold a UNEB Certificate in
Secretarial Studies or a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized University
or Training Institution OR equivalent qualifications from a recognized training
Institution in the following subjects:
Business Communication Stage II, Type Writing Stage
II (40 w.p.m), Office Practice II, Secretarial Duties II
Computer literacy skills and working knowledge in
using Word Processing package
Ordinary level certificate with 2 credits including
English Language and 3 passes
At least three years working experience in Secretarial
work.
Age: Below 50 years

specified against the post. Applicants should attach photocopies of their
certificates and transcripts and any relevant document(s) plus three recent
passport size photographs on each of the application forms. Serving officers
must route their applications through their Head of Institution, who should be
advised on the closing date to ensure submission within the deadline.
