Job Summary: The Behaviour Change
Communication/CLTS Advisor will render support in the development and
implementation of evidence-based communication strategies to address WASH
interventions including Behaviour Change Communications BCC) as well as
Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)
Communication/CLTS Advisor will render support in the development and
implementation of evidence-based communication strategies to address WASH
interventions including Behaviour Change Communications BCC) as well as
Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively coordinate and maintains overall
responsibility for technical oversight of all the BCC/CLTS component of
the grant in collaboration with other team members and partners - Support the Chief of Party in the
planning, development and periodic appraisals of BCC/CLTS technical
materials and tools to assure their compliance with the policies and
strategies of the government - Oversee the development, revisions and
implementation of CLTS and WASH related tools, guidelines, materials and
methodologies to promote community problem solving and decision-making
concerning health, hygiene and sanitation issues - Actively facilitate the production of
simple WASH friendly technologies and promote their use through the
systems and structures established by partner organizations - Support the integration of public health
concepts into WASH activities and ensure close collaboration with health,
education and district assembly sub-sectors, including hygiene promotion
and community mobilization - Ensure that gender issues are considered
in the design and implementation of BCC strategies - Assist the Chief of Party to represent the
project at WASH forums and technical sessions. - The incumbent will also perform any other
duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Master’s Degree in public health, engineering, business or similar field - A minimum of ten years of general public
health expertise including engagement of government counterparts in
coordination, planning and monitoring of initiatives. - Past exposure and experience in
undertaking at-scale public health activities. - Broad knowledge and understanding of
behavior change strategies including experience formative research,
strategy development and implementation. - Detailed knowledge and understanding of
CLTS and typical WASH BC methodologies. - Must be a committed Christian, able to
stand above denominational diversities. - Attend and participate/lead in daily
devotions and weekly Chapel services.
