and orientation WVUs programmatic interventions and coordinate the timely and
appropriate provision of essential technical assistance in accordance with
established standards and norms for program quality.
- Provide
effective leadership to the technical services team to support quality
delivery through development of guidelines and tools, coaching, mentoring
and developing capacity of the team to deliver on their goals. - Oversee
the successful development and implementation of technically feasible
approaches and programs in WVU ministry - Ensure
Program Effectiveness and Insights. In collaborating with other
departments and external experts on the development of research
initiatives, designed to assess the impact of WVUs various Technical
Programs and other interventions - Represent
WVU technical team in partnership networks and other engagements
- Build
and strengthen technical capacity of WVU field teams to implement strategy
aligned technical programmes - Technicaly
support the consolidation of a learning culture within WVU- based upon WVU
learnings, best practices and industry standards to enable program staff
to continually adapt and remain relevant in to changing development field.
- Guide
the successful development and roll out of implementation strategies and
operational guidelines in response to WVU sector; program priorities; and
child well-being aspirations - Ensure
quality, focus, strategy alignment and feasibility in the development,
design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all WVUs program
interventions in alignment with the organisations guidelines, policies,
procedures and other accepted norms and standards; - Ensure
WVU programme interventions align with and contribute to achievement of
the NO strategy. - Ensure
that all projects and programs have functioning Monitoring and reporting
systems and processes in place and the NO M&E system is functioning
and yields information required to meet all stakeholder needs - Support
operational research and documentation of WV programme experiences,
successes, lessons learned with a view of continual building on these to
improve programme quality
- Ensure
the National Office engages effectively with relevant Government
Departments, Regional technical/sector representatives and Support Offices
on technical guidance in programming - Leverage
WVU expertise and experiences in development work to build networks and

- Ensure
that other grant funded interventions are effectively supported , in terms
of receiving timely and appropriate technical assistance and program
orientation needed to meet or exceed donor performance and compliance
expectations; - Ensure
that Operations team and other staff receive the technical support they
require to successfully meet established yearly resource acquisition
targets - Ensure
there is good working relationships and technical support coordination
with Resource Development team in developing concepts & proposals;
- Participate
in regional and partnership initiatives as required - Attend
and participate in the Senior Leadership Team meetings. - Attend,
participate and/or lead in morning devotions and weekly chapel services - Perform
other duties as assigned.
- The
ideal candidate for the World Vision International Technical Services
Director opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences,
statistics, development or related field from a recognized University. Possession
of an advanced degree is preferred; - A
minimum of eight or more years’ experience with regards to the designing,
planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated
development, relief and/or advocacy projects at middle management or
senior level; - Detailed
knowledge and conceptual understanding of and demonstrated practical
command for implementing program design, management and evaluation
principals: - The
incumbent must be a results-orientated leader who can handle a heavy work
load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting
organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands. - He
/she must also excel and be able to support others at public relations and
be a strong team player.
