The Uganda Registration Services Bureau
(URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services
Bureau Act Cap. 210,  Laws of Uganda 2000
Edition. The Bureau is a key player in commercial and civil registrations that
facilitate private sector development and vital statistics for national
planning.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The Statistician/Planner
will work closely with the liaison Officers.
·        
Work
closely with Heads of departments to produce Progress reports at the end of
each quarter and their Performance Annual Plans (PAP).
·        
Evaluate
and monitor implementation of URSB Programmes.
·        
Manage
the regular evaluation of performance of the URSB in connection with its
Corporate Plan.
·        
In
charge of developing a statistical unit capable of collecting and analyzing
trends in URSB’s various lines of business and to supply accurate statistics as
when required.
·        
Identifies
achievements, setbacks, constraints and challenges through holding sessions
with each Department and assists departments draw up their Performance
Improvement Plans (PIP).
·        
Performs
related work as and when directed by the Registrar General.
Key
Performance Indicators:
·        
Annual
work plan developed.
·        
Quarterly
work plan produced.
·        
Quarterly
progress reports made.
·        
Bureau
activities monitored for conformity with the strategic plan.
·        
Statistical
database maintained.
·        
Periodic
statistics produced
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
ideal Statistician/Planner should hold an Honors Degree in Quantitative Economics,
Commerce or Statistics. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in project
planning and Management is an added advantage.
·        
Computer
literacy skills, legal advocacy and interpersonal skills.
·        
Excellent
communication skills.
·        
Good
project planning and management skills.
·        
Good
report writing skills
·        
Skills
in public relations
·        
Excellent
presentation skills
