in Kenya with regional operation. The organization has a strong membership of
312 encompassing Human Rights Actors from diverse sectors such as Child
Protection, Gender, Education, Democracy and Governance, Research, Policy
Advocacy, Health, Capacity Development, HIV/AIDS, Emergency and Response.
Coordinator will provide leadership and guidance to field officers, program
officers and volunteers. She will be responsible for developing new training
models, ensuring effective implementation of programs, evaluation of programs
and report compilation. She will also assist in fundraising for Girl Child
Network
- In
charge of developing and managing the implementation of the girls’
empowerment model - In
charge of overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of all programs - Manage
program budget(s) and financial goals - Manage
and supervise updating of databases for GCN members and stakeholders - Render
support in the recruitment and selection of staff, interns and volunteers
( as need arises) - Mentor
and supervise Program Officers, volunteers and interns in accordance with
company policies and procedures - Support
in coaching and developing staff including holding regular appraisals and
conducting performance reviews - Generate
increased income from existing sources - Identify
and research potential funding opportunities - Develop
proposals for projects that could attract new funding - Build
and strengthen working relationships with other stakeholders - Support
the process of developing a three-year fundraising strategy - Grow
awareness of the organization and its work at local, national and
international levels
- The
applicant should preferably hold a university degree in International Development,
Law, International/ Regional Studies or related field. - At
least two years living or working in a developing country. - Good
working knowledge of NGOs and ability to represent the organization at
high-level meetings. - Proven
ability to maintain working level contacts with NGO officials, donors and
government; - Capability
to supervise GCN officers, interns and volunteers’ performance and provide
technical assistance as needed. - Excellent
organizational and administrative skills. - Excellent
computer skills in word-processing and database management. - Motivation
and commitment to work effectively without supervision. - Excellent
interpersonal skills. - Proven
ability to exercise good judgment under normal as well as complex, low
resource, and often stressful conditions.
