& Development (CEHURD) is an indigenous, non-profit, research and advocacy
organization, whose vision is “To realize social justice in public health
systems.” CEHURD works with public, private and civil society organisations to
ensure that public health laws are used as principle tools for the promotion
and protection of public health of the vulnerable populations in Uganda.

- Offer
timely administrative support to ensure that CEHURD operations are
maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner - Manage
all aspects of publication orders including inventory and maintenance of
inventory - Render
support in bookkeeping/accounting functions as appropriate - Support
in developing and instituting methods for quality control and accuracy in
meetings, conferences and other databases - The
Administrative Assistant will offer courteous receptionist services - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
- The
Administrative Assistant for CEHURD should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Secretarial Studies, Office Management or Business Administration
majoring in Management - Attained
formal training in office procedures and use of office equipment. - A
minimum of three years of administrative support experience in a busy
environment, preferably with an NGO. - The
Administrative Assistant should have working knowledge of office
administration and bookkeeping procedures - Possess
the ability to communicate accurately and clearly both orally and in
writing; and pleasant telephone manner - Computer
literacy skills; specifically the ability to operate spreadsheet, word
processing and desktop publishing programs - Possess
the ability to be proactive, prioritize, multitask, and perform
efficiently and effectively with individuals in a fast paced working
environment - Ability
to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion - Keen
attention to detail with excellent organizational skills - Excellent
communication skills (written, verbal, listening, and presentation) - Warm
personality with a good sense of humor.
