International in the finance and accounts function through the management of
grants related projects focusing on budget management and ensuring efficiency,
effectiveness and value for money transactions.
Review of Proposals and Agreements:
Regularly
review sub-contract agreements to ensure they are within each grant budget and
consolidate for the country
Review
grant proposals to ensure that the planned activities are correctly coded
according to the corporate coding system
Reporting:
The
Accountant will prepare monthly grant indicative fund report
Tasked
with the preparation of financial reports for all grants according to the donor
reporting requirements
Prepare
monthly and quarterly analysis of the spend position of the respective grants
The
incumbent will prepare grant expenditure information for external audit
including Fund Accountability report and coordinate and provide the necessary
information as required by the auditors
Reconcile
the finance and grant module expenditures for each grant on a monthly basis
Grant Record Management:
Create
funded and sponsored programs for each new and modified grant in SAP
Generate
a list of all grants that are closing in a respective month and share with the
CFM for onward sharing with the Finance Team
Link
all grant related account codes to each grant upon approval of the grant
Project Outline
The
Grants Accountant will prepare an Annual grant audit schedule to facilitate
tracking of grant audits.
Generate

Experience:
All
applicants must be qualified accountants with either ACCA or CPA
The
applicants should also preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in
finance/Accounting or related field
At
least four years’ experience as an Accountant in a busy organization preferably
an NGO experience
Working
knowledge of donor requirements
Past
exposure and experience in handling multi-Donor projects
Experience
in grant accounting will be an added advantage
Excellent
interpersonal analytical and communication skills
Keen
attention to detail
Good
report writing skills
Computer
literacy skills i.e. proficiency in Ms Office packages.
