responsible for developing M&E plans and systems for new Mildmay grants and
ensuring documentation and dissemination of MUg program impact with the aim to continuously
improve MUg’s strategic positioning as well inform policy .
to grants development and business development in ensuring that effective
M&E plans and systems are developed for new applications, new projects and
business initiatives:
- Research
the M&E requirements of grants and business opportunities identified
by MUg - Sensitize
grants and business development staff on M&E needs of newly identified
grants and business opportunities - Work
closely with all stakeholders of new grants and business initiatives to
establish a shared M&E vision for new opportunities - Supporting
grants development and business development arms to design new projects, products
and services in ways that optimize impact - In
charge of developing the M&E sections of grants, proposals and
projects being developed by the grants or business development teams or
task forces - Ensure
that project designs and M&E plans comply with the conditions/provisions
of funding opportunity announcements, cooperative agreements and grants - Keenly
track changes in the M&E policies and priorities of Mildmay Uganda’s
major grantors, donors or funders or those targeted in future - Work
closely with the M&E Manager to regularly map all small projects [i.e.
those without a fully-fledged M&E and reporting portfolio] and their
M&E and reporting requirements to ensure alignment to MUg M&E
framework
communications, advocacy, partnerships, donor relations management and
stakeholders management processes in ensuring effective impact reporting to all
targeted publics:
- Work
closely with M&E Department and other internal and external sources
and stakeholders to gather data and information for impact reporting by
MUg - Working
in liaison with Communications Department, Research team and other
internal and external entities to write, produce, publish or disseminate
impact stories from MUg interventions - Ensuring
easy public access to impact reports and data and ensure they are widely circulated - Responsible
for sensitizing MUg leadership, program managers and program staff about
impact emerging from their interventions and equipping them to aim at
maximizing impact, including critical reflection and learning - Work
collaboratively with the M&E Manager in planning and conducting
project reviews to ensure dissemination of program impact observations - Ensuring
that impact reporting and findings are reflected in subsequent budgeting
and work plan development - In
charge of arranging strategic impact-level engagement between MUg
leadership and government ministries or departments, local governments,
donors and other stakeholders - Responsible
for establishing and maintaining close working relationships with all
internal and external parties and stakeholders with interests in MUg
impact reporting to ensure alignment with the impact agenda of other
partners - In
charge of coordinating and ensuring effective follow-up, execution and turn-around
on key decisions arising from impact reporting - In
charge of assessing the extent, quality and effectiveness of the impact
conversation among targeted publics and devising means to address identified
gaps or achieve higher goals - Building
capacity of MUg in impact reporting and fostering a joint learning process
that identifies how projects could be improved further to achieve impact - Planning
and executing ad hoc evaluation studies needed to gain timely and relevant
insights into emerging areas of concern and ensuring that findings are
shared with all those involved in decision-making and following up on
implementation of agreed action steps
- The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences,
Economics or Statistics, Development Studies - Possession
of a Post-graduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Population
Studies, or Public Health - Two
years’ experience of M&E work in a health program - A
minimum of two years’ experience in writing high quality and high profile
reports - Prior
experience in dealing with donor reporting - A
year’s experience in a middle management level is an added advantage - Excellent
written and oral presentation and communication skills - Prior
experience in designing and use of M&E tools, data analysis, data
quality assessments and data use - Skills
to develop and cultivate strong and sustainable partnerships - Good
Influencing/Negotiation skills - Good
problem solving skills and ability - Excellent
planning and organizational skills - Ability
to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of
Mildmay Uganda. - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills - Computer
literacy i.e. Proficiency in various Microsoft office packages and working
knowledge of English and local language(s) are crucial. - Evidence
of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality
and lifestyle is critical.
