client, a Construction Company in
Kampala.
planning, organizing, and directing all accounting and card services functions
in the Finance Department. The incumbent will be responsible for safeguarding
organization assets and fiscal record keeping. He /she will also be responsible
for the preparation of reports for Senior Management, the board of directors,
external users, and government agencies. The incumbent will monitor department
policies and procedures and recommends improvements. He / she will also ensure
that accounting activities are in accordance with generally accepted accounting
principles, legal, regulatory, and organization procedures. The job holder will
ensures that the Finance Department supports the overall goals of the
organization and that finance services are delivered professionally and
efficiently.
- Providing
and interpreting financial information; - In
charge of monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future
trends; - Keenly
analysing change and advising accordingly; - In
charge of formulating strategic and long-term business plans; - Respnsible
for researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance; - In
charge of analysing competitors and market trends; - Responsible
for developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial
risk; - Carrying
out reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities; - In
charge of managing a company’s financial accounting, monitoring and
reporting systems; - Working
closely with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out; - In
charge of developing external relationships with appropriate contacts,
e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the
Inland Revenue; - Producing
accurate financial reports to specific deadlines; - Management
of budgets; - Arranging
new sources of finance for a company’s debt facilities; - Mentoring
and supervising subordinate staff; - Keeping
abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
- The
ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in BCOM, or BBA. - Possession
of professional accounting qualifications i.e. ACCA, CPA - A
minimum of six or more years of continuous work experience as a Finance
Manager - Background
