Job
Summary:
 The Estates Supervisor will lead, plan and
co-ordinate the development and management of PostBank’s Estate in accordance
with the objectives and targets set in the Strategic Plan. He /s he will work
closely with the Administration staff to ensure compliance, value for money and
effective maintenance programmes for the future development of the Bank estate.
Assessing current working and business practices will be key to the role to
ensure that the Bank achieves continual improvement in this area. The incumbent
will provide expertise to the GMFA and relevant staff on the legal requirements
for compliance and provide advice, guidance, planning and implementation of
both the Establishment programmes of the estate and the effective management of
Contracts. Alongside this, the role holder will be expected to produce monthly
and annual reports with respect to planned maintenance targets and compliance
regimes in order to update Management.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The
incumbent will be responsible for preparing documents to put out tenders for
contractors
·        
In
charge of project management and supervising and coordinating work of
contractors;
·        
Investigating
availability and suitability of options for new premises;
·        
Calculating
and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for
money;
·        
In
charge of planning for future development in line with strategic business
objectives;
·        
Managing
and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities;
·        
Ensuring
the building meets health and safety requirements and that facilities comply
with legislation;
·        
Keeping
staff safe;
·        
Planning
best allocation and utilization of space and resources for new buildings, or
re-organizing current premises;
·        
Regularly
checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed
satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies;
·        
In
charge of coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of
responsibility;
·        
Using
performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of
agreed service levels and to lead on improvement;
·        
Responding
appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with
the consequences.
·        
Perform
any other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Finance &
Administration.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the PostBank Estates Supervisor should hold a Degree in
estates management engineering, Civil engineering, building surveying,
Architect or Contracts Management
·        
The
applicant must be Member of a related professional body
·        
At
least three to five years’ experience in building supervision
·        
Background
in multi-site complex organizations
·        
Significant
management experience in a technical building background with responsibility
for a number of trades.
·        
Past
experience in supporting tenders and developing business cases
·        
Good
understanding of all building trades and maintenance services.
