About US:
BRAC is one of the world’s
largest Non-Governmental Development Organization working in a number of
countries in Africa and Asia on poverty alleviation Programs and it is
registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization implements integrated development
approach combining Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent
Empowerment and Micro-finance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In
    charge of carrying out country risk assessment for designing emergency
    response strategies, and implementation of plans considering
    internationally accepted standards.
  • Responsible
    for developing and maintaining a strong collaborative and networking
    partnership with key stakeholders, and community partners for involvement
    in emergency management activities.
  • Developing
    concept notes/proposals and reports by gathering information on country
    situation and becoming familiar with requirements and guidelines of
    various funders and engaging in fundraising activities for the country, in
    the field of disaster management and emergency response.
  • In
    charge of coordinating and following up country programs to ensure
    technical inputs for preparing concept notes, proposals, reports and
    presentations.
  • Regularly
    monitor country safety and security situations, and provide necessary
    emergency support to country management.
  • Perform
    any other duties as may be assigned by the country representative
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should preferably hold a Masters in Social Sciences, Development
    Studies, Disaster Management, Geography and Environmental Studies or any
    other comparative university degree.
  • A
    minimum of three years of relevant work experience in emergency response
    and disaster risk reduction.
  • Prior
    experience with different aspects of project management including
    development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and
    supervision of environmental experts.
  • Past
    exposure and experience in
    developing proposals,
    budget, situation reports, action plans and brief notes and presentations.
  • Skills
    of self-awareness, cultural diversity, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent
    written and oral English communication skills
